About this tool

Passport-size photo: 2×2 inches. Profile picture: 400×400. Exam portal: exactly 350×450 pixels, nothing else accepted. This resizer takes the guessing out — type the width and height the form is demanding, keep the padlock on if you do not want the picture stretched, and download it at exactly that size.

The current size of your image is shown the moment you pick it, so you can see how far you are from the target. Resizing down also shrinks the file size on its own, which is why this tool and the compressor are often used one after the other.

Worth knowing: Making an image bigger than it started cannot add real detail — the pixels simply get spread out, and the result looks soft. If a form demands a large size and your photo is small, the form will usually still accept it; it just will not look crisp in print.

How to use the Image Resizer

Questions people ask

Can I resize without stretching the photo?

Yes. Keep the lock on and the other dimension follows automatically, so faces and logos never get squashed or pulled.

What format is the resized image?

PNG, so no extra quality is lost during the resize. If you need it as JPG afterwards, run it through the PNG to JPG converter.

The form wants a size in KB, not pixels. What do I do?

Pixels and file size are different things. Resize here first if the dimensions are wrong, then use the Image Compressor to bring the KB down to the limit.

Is there a file size limit?

Only your device's memory. The tool runs locally, so even large phone photos usually work fine.
